May

    May started out with a trip to Dallas. On the 4^th I helped put caulk on a house for Habitat for Humanity and was interviewed for the Chronicle TV News. This past week leading up to Mother's Day is National Woman Build Week and it was an honor to be a part of that. I also visited Bruce Wallace, a Vietnam Veteran and dear friend and mentor, who was in the hospital because of a heart attack. It was great to see him again and I am glad he is doing better, Bruce is a wonderful man that has sparked my knowledge on our Veterans and men and women in service. On the 5^th, the Miss Fort Worth Organization (a. k. a. my MFWSO family) held a Mock Pageant for all of the Fort Worth girls and any other organization that wanted to participate. We were able to have a mock interview and practice our walking patterns and talent for the judges and received helpful feedback. I had so much fun reuniting with my MFWSO family again. Fun Times :)

    April 27^th was my Junior prom! I had a fabulous time with my date and my friends! We danced the night away to the great music provided by the DJs and I was voted the Most Artistic of the Junior class! On April 30^th, the Denver City Production class performed Murder Box and I played Pricilla. Our main prop was the Magic “Murder” Box and I helped my wood shop teacher build it! I had a blast! Another great thing about April is that I received Student of the Month! What a great month April has been!

April JEWELS and GEMS meeting

      My JEWELS and GEMS met again in April. Our theme was “You Rock” and we talked about how they, like rocks, can be polished to have more value and worth. We talked about how they could become polished- polishing for people is obtained by the choices they make. I also took the kids back to the 50’s and the time of ROCK & roll. We learned how our lives are like a record, or in this day and age, a CD. Our lives and the choices we make are RECORDed on to the CD of life and we talked about how we want our lives to be recorded (remembered). For exercise, we learned how to do the twist.  Boy, can they dance?! We made a calcium rich snack of old-fashioned Ice Cream Sundays and they were very creative with the fresh fruit. We painted rocks to take home to remind them that "they rock". We read a book entitled “Bully BEANS” and talked about how Bullies Everywhere Are Now Stopped and I gave them each a bag of Bully Beans to take home. I love working with my JEWELS and GEMS they always make me smile! <3 MCOT Jacy

Spring Meeting Weekend

    To start off Spring Meeting weekend (April 5^th-7^th), I was invited back to Harmony Science Academy. I presented my School Program for their 4th, 5th, and 6th graders and that was the largest group that I have spoken to. The Harmony kiddos welcomed me and embraced me with hugs. I signed more autographs then ever before and they all wanted pictures with me. Since then I have received letters and  Facebook messages that stated what they have learned and how I made a difference in their lives.

    After my School Program, I headed to Allen for an all pageant weekend with all of my pageant friends at Spring Meeting. I received a ton of great information and listened to/met so many wonderful speakers. The Miss Texas Organization held the annual Woman of Achievement dinner and my nominee, Lisa Landry, and her family was able to attend and Mrs. Landry received her award from Miss Texas, DaNae Couch, Miss Texas Outstanding Teen, Margana Wood, and myself. The Miss Texas Organization also held the Mini Miss Texas pageant where one of my little friends Kiley Irlbeck won the Talent award. What an exceptional weekend! <3 MCOT Jacy

      April 3rd was a fun day for Miss Carrollton's Outstanding Teen! I performed my School Program for my JEWELS and GEMS and afterwards, I made an appearance at the CIRCUS in Seagraves. I stamped hands and met a lion trainer and a clown! Man that was neat!                 <3 MCOT Jacy

March

   To start March off I was invited to be a star at Breakfast With The Stars benefiting the Tarrant County Food Bank. My pageant sisters and I signed autographs, met many nice people, and took tons of pictures (including some with Disney princesses and awesome mascots)! I felt more like a little kid than a star and I truly had a blast! 

Later that weekend, I was educated about some important people who have been and/or are still serving in the military when two of my pageant sisters and I and assisted with the auction at the Wounded Warriors reception. There I met some amazing men: Medal of Honor recipients, important military personnel, and wonderful veterans that just touched my heart. After hearing what great things the Wounded Warriors did for our wonderful men and women in service, I was honored to be there. They took the Warriors on unbelievable adventures such as: skydiving, driving NASCAR racecars, and much more. I was able to hear some of their stories from their past time served and get to know and understand the hardships they went through. I now have a greater knowledge and appreciation for the men and women that fight for our freedom!
