About Jacy

Where to begin… My name is Jacy Etter. I live in a small town in Texas called Denver City where I am a junior, varsity cheerleader, a drill instructor in band, and am in the top 10 of my class. I participate in our theatre department at school and am involved with my church. I have been involved in the Miss America Organization for three years, and have won the titles of Miss High Plains’ Outstanding Teen 2011, Miss Lubbock’s Outstanding Teen 2012, and now the prestigious title of Miss Carrolton’s Outstanding Teen 2013!

I am also the published author of my book Growing Up Beautiful in an Ugly World of Bullies. I have written my book to share my stories with others and hopefully inspire them to overcome bullying by maintaining a healthy life style and participating in something they love to do! My experiences with bullying led my to my platform Jacy’s JEWELS- Just Eat Well, Exercise and Love yourSelf! I used to be the overweight girl with acne masking my face, braces hiding my smile, and glasses disguising my eyes. I was a constant target for bullies and I was bullied every single day, which led me to eating a ton of unhealthy food and crying myself to sleep every night. I needed a way out of the bullying, so I started eating healthy and exercising, which made me think and feel better, and I found many things that I love to do, but pageants have always been in my dreams, and as I carried out my platform, and with the help of my amazing family, I had the chance to start competing. It is one of the best things I have ever participated in because it made me into the confident young lady I am today!
