March

To start March off I was invited to be a star at Breakfast With The Stars benefiting the Tarrant County Food Bank. My pageant sisters and I signed autographs, met many nice people, and took tons of pictures (including some with Disney princesses and awesome mascots)! I felt more like a little kid than a star and I truly had a blast!
Later that weekend, I was educated about some important people who have been and/or are still serving in the military when two of my pageant sisters and I and assisted with the auction at the Wounded Warriors reception. There I met some amazing men: Medal of Honor recipients, important military personnel, and wonderful veterans that just touched my heart. After hearing what great things the Wounded Warriors did for our wonderful men and women in service, I was honored to be there. They took the Warriors on unbelievable adventures such as: skydiving, driving NASCAR racecars, and much more. I was able to hear some of their stories from their past time served and get to know and understand the hardships they went through. I now have a greater knowledge and appreciation for the men and women that fight for our freedom!

Ending February.

I absolutely love being Miss Carrollton’s Outstanding Teen! Over the past few weeks I have had many opportunities to represent the great city of Carrollton, including helping with and performing at the Little Miss Fort Worth pageant! I sure am glad I wasn’t a judge because all of the girls were adorable and did such a fantastic job! After the pageant, I attended the Father/Daughter dance in Carrollton benefiting the Carrollton Police Department. Seeing the joy on the dad's faces and the excitement in their beautiful daughters was the best part! <3 Jacy MCOT

JEWELS and GEMS- February

My JEWELS and GEMS met in February and we learned to be Heart Healthy. In celebration of this, I presented a slide show describing Heart Healthy food and exercises. We read Have You Filled A Bucket Today and gave the Jewels and Gems their own little buckets so they will be aware and be bucket fillers instead of bucket dippers. Also, I helped the kids make a special (belated) Valentines Day dinner for their mothers that included heart shaped whole-wheat sandwiches with turkey, cheese, and all kinds of healthy veggies. As always, I had so much fun with my JEWELS and GEMS and of course, their moms too! <3 Jacy MCOT
